(La) luna Update

Hello everyone,

For the next week or so, I'll be in the process of moving due to my impending divorce (God I hate writing that!), but after the move, I'm contemplating either starting a private blog or a new public blog with another file host such as Mediafire, Fileserve or Rapidshare. I will keep you posted about this new blog as I figure things out, and yes, if/when the new blog happens, I will post Heyday!  ;)  ~ Voix

  2. Yikes, I was stopping by to add my voice to the chorus of those sad to see your blog go, but clearly there are much bigger things to be dealt with. I'm sorry to hear about the upheaval in your life. I hope the transition goes as smoothly as possible and that good things come your way soon.

  5. Long live (La) Luna! Even if it must be reincarnated to do so.

And long live YOU as well. Take care to survive and hopefully even learn and prosper on your unintended new path. If I may... I don't know if you would find this helpful as in something you might relate to just now, or something which forces your focus on that which you would rather not, but you may recall a few months ago I had recommended the works of Peter Hammill and Van der Graaf Generator, and one of a handful of specific albums I suggested was a Hammill solo from 1977 titled "Over", which is comprised of eight songs all inspired (if you can call it that) by his own then-fresh break-up of a long-term relationship. If you haven't investigated it yet but feel up to that sort of thing right now, you should. Some info on it:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Over_%28album%29

You can find it, as well as nearly all the rest of his solo catalog in FLAC, MP3 320 or M4A, here:

Take care, buddy, and thanks for all the great music discoveries, as well as the digital upgrades to albums I'd not listened to since my turntable stopped working twenty years ago. Hope to meet you again soon, in a virtual space identical or similar to this one.

  7. Thanks for promising Heyday - finding a good copy out there is impossible at the moment.

I've been divorced a couple of times, so I do know what you're going through. All I can say is that things happen exactly as they should, and it's no indication of failure on your part. Hang in there, and do stuff that takes your mind off your relationship (unless that stuff is drinking - don't drink).

  14. Hi Voix, sorry I haven't been around (health/money problems). I recently tried to do an UL on Multiupload to post at PPP (Neats – 1981-84 The Ace of Hearts Years) and it stopped cold after 21%. I've heard others have had similar problems, so it looks as if I'll be seeking a new host too.

I really feel for you and hope you get back on top again. I have a few hoops to jump through as well and I hope we'll be loving and sharing music again real soon. All the best.

  15. Take care man and thanks for all the work...
I hope next time I get those Swell Maps albums the
U.S. Justice Department doesn't shut down your
    file hosting website

  16. Hang in there guy! This whole MegaUp thing is a big stinky steaming pile especially after they cleaned up the format and took away the waiting period to download a file. 99% of my blog was megaup links so I shut it down. I'll probably still blog but I don't know if it is going to be music posts. I have a fileserve account but my anti-virus software has come up more than once showing them trying something so beware on the file hosters that haven't been shut down yet, once they are they'll probably come after individuals and IP addresses. Breaking a file down into 5-6 100mb parts doesn't sound like all that much fun either. I wonder if Crapidshare is any good, hope they are based on the moon or a space station to keep from getting shut down. All the best in your real world life and blogging endeavors. It was a fun, fun run full of great music and they can never take away the memories of fun times and good music.

  20. "J" I'm really sorry to read about your descent into the shit storm we know as divorce. It's never pretty and I know what you're about to experience...first hand unfortunately. You've got my e-mail bro, if you need a vent, or whatever else you might need.

  25. Well everything happens for a reason. So let this be a new beginning. I vote MEDIAFIRE, cause that is by far the easiest fastest 'file-sharer' around. Hope all will settle down in the near present.

  28. go privat my friend. I know that the right people will come who appreciate your uploads, comment and engage in conversation. I guess you're posting more for those reasons than gaining download numbers. ;)
