R.I.P. We Like It Lossless!

Hello everyone,

I am very sad to report that the We Like It Lossless! blog is no longer with us. It was deleted by Google Blogger earlier today. The blog's administrator, JFK has started a new blog in the spirit of WLIL!. To visit and show your support, click on the link below:

I am deeply saddened because the internet's best resource for electronic music is gone and also because WLIL! was instrumental in helping me grow (La) luna and Plastic Palace People into the amazing blogs they are today. We all see ourselves as a big family where each member supports all the others (which reminds me: hey HFS40000, how about a blogroll???), and to lose one of our family members stings like hell. Part of maintaining a lossless music blog is to face the reality that each morning, you may wake up and find your beautiful blog obliterated by Google. I have taken steps to back up (La) luna just in case, and I will work on doing the same for Plastic Palace People.

I also wanted to thank all of you once again for being such loyal and wonderful reader/members; it is truly appreciated. You may have noticed that I have been posting less frequently on (La) luna, and this is due to my present workload and a personal crisis that I'm working through. I appreciate your patience. I have many great posts and reviews planned. I'll have a paisley post up tonight.

One last request: please click the "join" button if you haven't done so already. We're almost at 300!!!

  2. JFK, you're welcome and please let me know if I can help in any way my friend

    ReplyDelete
  3. i'll do! and, largely, you have already done.

  4. We all may have to go underground......I hate to say that but it may get worse.

    ReplyDelete
  5. scurfie, the irony is we're already an "underground," so the future is so bleak, even the undergrounds need to go underground...shit I'm tired ;)

  6. Thanks so much for the info - just found his new one quite by accident 5 mins ago and having read this realised it for what it was !

  7. Not to rain on your parade, but this one and your other blog ain't that "amazing". Sorry! A Bunch of FLAC files looted from elsewhere? BFD! I find your pretentious imagery and obvious high opinion of yourself in poor taste as well. Just an observation ;-) We Like It Lossless, however, will be missed. And as for a HFS40000 blogroll link, you can fucking forget about it

    ReplyDelete
  8. Anon., thank you so much for your heartfelt compliments and please let me know if you ever want me to fill a request for you, either here or over at HFS40000 ;)

  9. Anyone ever tried wordpress? Noticed some political blogs are switching to wordpress. There should be other choices besides google and wordpress.

  10. What a shame. I loved that blog. They were responsible for turning me onto the Kranky label as well as many others.

Sorry for my absence. I'm still around. My studies take up the majority of my time these days.

    ReplyDelete
  11. you got my support! And I will include the new blog in my blogroll.

    Cheers!

  12. Hey Anonymous Pus@y f#ckbr&in why don't you add your real handle chickensh&t MF. There's always some FB like that guy posting anon. Oh well sorry to hear about WLIL.

    ReplyDelete
  13. V - Sorry I got carried away - there's always someone that must be paid to cruise the web. I don't get it just don't go the place you hate, simple as that.

  14. sradams777, actually, thank you! You pretty much said everything I was thinking when I read that ridiculous anonymous post. I have no idea why someone with that perspective would even be making comments here

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ol' Foggy, great to hear from you. I've been wondering where you disappeared to

    ReplyDelete
  16. i'll never stop to say thank you @ all for the support.

    ReplyDelete
  17. and please, i've (surely) forgot to link all the others blogs, just write a comment in the "welcome all" on the Revenge and i'll be happy to link your own blog

  18. JFK - and anyone who followed We Like It Lossless - if you go into blogger dashboard > reading list > view in google reader and select We Like It Lossless - you can see all the WLIL posts including download links. all the more reason to follow a blog if you like it!

  19. Does anbody know what criteria Blogger uses when deciding to "off" a blog. Some sites have been around for years with no apparent attention from the man. Whilst others attract a lot of attention. I'm curious.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sir Billy Himalaya, I've often wondered the same thing. My suspicion is that it's either random or they respond to complaints. The default on a blogger puts a nav bar at the top, which has a "report abuse" option, which is why I get rid of that bar asap when I set up a blog. I suppose there is an inevitability to such deletions though

    ReplyDelete
  21. Complaints (from artists),i think...1 of my fav blogs http://phrockblog11.blogspot.com/ shutdown about 2 hours ago.
    I wish,to all of them...

How do you get rid of that navbar?

  25. A sad day indeed :/

WLIL was responsible for introducing me to endless hours of incredible music, and a large number of purchases to go with them. Purchases that fund smaller groups and more authentic musicians, as opposed to the mass-market crud I would have spent the money on without the guidance of WLIL.

JFK, you have my profound thanks for all your hard work. I shall definitely continue to follow the new endeavour.

    ReplyDelete
  26. really sorry to see WLIL went like that... I can't tell you how it affected my musical experience for the past year... I am a late comer but wish all the best wishes to your future musical media hub plan...

    ReplyDelete
  27. WLIL has introduced me to a lot of great music. Thanks to them I've been to concerts I wouldn't have gone to and bought music I wouldn't have bought otherwise. And I've discovered some other nice blogs there, this one included. But anyway, to cheer up a bit bear in mind that Mazzy Star are releasing new music soon!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Kibuki, thank you for the Mazzy Star info! What a great day: Khadafi dies and Mazzy is coming back. Incredible :)

  30. Anon., thanks for the article. Scary, but this site and others like it do not engage in piracy. There are no profits being made. Sharing is not piracy.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Damn! Wilitherevenge got sunk today even after taking good precautions to shield it's members from the public web... Blogger, and Google will not be the way to go from here...thank you (not) google for being a corporate shill & not a friend of passionate people sharing in terrible economies... monopolies will all have their day to pay the piper...I for one hope sooner than later!

    ReplyDelete
  32. wliltherevenge ist also down, what a shame... :-( It was a short but intense relationship. I want to thank JFK here for the great music as I don't know another way to contact him. Thank you all.

    ReplyDelete
  33. It's not really Google that's to blame, it's the laws that allow governments to shut down websites and hunt down individual users. Hence anonymous...

    SHARING IS NOT PIRACY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Anyone know if wlil is to be remade elsewhere ?

    ReplyDelete
  35. i reached out to JFK and am awaiting his reply. i'm sure he will find a way to put up WLILaVENGED somewhere........

    ReplyDelete
  36. I as well emailed him... I can't share his email as that would not be right in a public forum, but I showed him some options (which I'm sure he already is aware of) so hopefully, there will be a rebirth somewhere not powered by blogger. fingerz x'd.

    ReplyDelete
  39. is it possible to get an invite? i miss wlil …

    ReplyDelete
  44. he's offline again- so sad. I just mailed JFK to explain.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Shit JFK's been shot again. Anyone got any news?

  46. i don't understand nothing. It's strange...there isn't any post in the public revenge explaining what's happen changing to a public host, and second....what about the host of the music? rapigator? all the Old files should be in the old hosts (uploader, fileflat, hotfile, etc...). It will be posibles that someone us the popularity of the private revenge to open a new blog?

any way, JFK i hope to see you again

    ReplyDelete
  47. again- he is gone, a few hours after my last visit. what is happening to his blog in that short intervals?

    ReplyDelete
  48. He got shot again, it seems.. Any news?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think that after the 'execution' of his Private Revenge blog (I smell a rat, you know who you are you *ssh*le!) he probably decided that it didn't make any difference, so he built a new blog out in the open 'for as long as it would last'.

A pity once again, but he'll be back somehow...

    ReplyDelete
  50. Bring back the Publicrevenge blog !

    ReplyDelete
  51. :'( haven't been in contact for a few days now...

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm beginning to think that although it may be a rat, it might also be the lack of link protection on his blog. If his file hoster is getting berated for his share, then they may be able to easily track it back to the linked page and thus, the blog.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thank you aussz for bringing some light into the dark.
I think it's over and he maybe laid the blog to rest.

Too bad if it would be so, I really loved his shares and his attitude.

    ReplyDelete
  54. apublicrevenge was online shortly yesterday. But it is now down again. I think he will be back :)

  58. where is JFK at the moment? he doesn't answer two mails.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hi Nickel, I get access denied too.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Same forme, and no contact with JFK from last sunday!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thanks for the feedback, I beginning to take it personally : )

    ReplyDelete
  62. Same here, was previously invited to theprivaterevenge, now access is denied. No reply from JFK through email.

Maybe even he's gotten fed up with rebuilding his blog over and over, or people spreading his links around. C'est la vie - he sure was doing a lot of work for free.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Also, maybe he just went on vacation to an island with no internet access. I'm sure we'll see him again with time.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Anyone some news regarding JFK? I just hope he's on a splendid vacation on the Bahamas:)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Oh so people are also on the same boat as me. That's reassuring... I got invited to TPR a while ago but now I'm denied access... No word form JFK either. Hope he's on a vacation =P
