David Bowie- "Be My Wife" Video (1977)

Classic Bowie from his "Thin White Duke" years. This song can be found on the first album of the Berlin Trilogy, Low:

  1. Nice tune, but David looks terrible on this clip.

  2. I think he was recovering from severe cocaine addition at the time

  3. Ah you beat me! Snorting coke. I think Frank Zappa put it best when he wrote "Cocaine Decisions". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_WgCGOWae4

  5. Revan0357, ya, this one caught my eye as well. I was surprised Bowie was doing videos for this album

  6. his talent is matched only by his vanity. i much prefer just to listen and not have to watch

  7. bedlam, name me a rock star who isn't vain, and if you ask me, he had pretty good reason to be, although, if you see him in interviews during the seventies, he was actually a very soft-spoken respectful guy, even when faced with disrespectful interviewers. He's theatrical, but I'm not sure that he's any more vain than any other star of the time

  8. oh, a huge talent voixautre, absolutely no question. it's just his affectations and forced mannerisms grate on me that's all. i worshipped him in the early 70s, absolutely idolised him - but by the 80s i kinda lost interest... not just in him, but glam in general. and don't get me started on that prancing pony who fronts the stones :)

  9. well, the eighties were his most fallow period creatively, so everyone sort of lost interest, but his seventies output is something I could never lose interest in
