Sex Pistols- "God Save the Queen" Video (1977)

No future indeed! Seems to me this song is even more relevant now than it was 35 years ago. In a world rife with bankrupt governments and communities being overrun by the spreading cancer of corporatization, I feel this way about 90% of the time. The other 10% is pure escapism.

  1. Have you ever heard the Virgin Sex Box? It might be the best Pistols release ever, 3 cd's 2002 is the year. It is chock full of awesome demos, instrumentals and alternate versions. People forget what excellent songs The Ramones and the Pistols had. I was just a lil' shaver knee high to a grasshopper when the Pistols and the Ramones were starting out but heard them later and loved them both instantly. =^..^=

  2. MT, I think I found it. I'll post here or on PPP very soon. Looks like an amazing collection. Thanks for the rec. By the way, I feel the same way about the Pistols and Ramones. The songs themselves are extremely underrated. People hear the band names and forget to listen

  3. I am going to post the Pistols-Anarchy in the UK video as soon as goog quits whining about cookie settings. Using IE, opera and firefox and getting the same message. Also uploaded Talk Talk-Natural History the Very Best Of but I'm sure you have that already. -Michael Timberbrooks (nom de plume)-

  4. MT, I do have all the Talk Talk stuff but the Pistols video would be much appreciated. I'm thinking of a Bullocks/Swindle post here and the box set you recommended over at PPP. Do you have any interest in "Flogging a Dead Horse"?

  5. Checked the bowels of hdd and that flogging was there but some other downloaders might not have it. I'm not changing my cookie settings and making the machine wide open so blogging will be rare for me. I look at flac blogs in firefox or opera set on paranoid then copy paste the download links into internet exploiter. Here is the link for that Pistols vid:

  7. I was in college attending a ski lodge apartment party. Too much beer and a friend who insisted I come up to his room and have a listen to this new band he was really exited about named The Sex Pistols. Since I was not a fan of punk I was not expecting much. I will never forget the speakers blaring out "God Save The Queen" and the huge smiles we both had. Ah good times.....
