"Your brown eyes are my blue skies. They light up the river that the birds fly over."
This is the new album out on Rough Trade, even better than the E.P. and easily one of the best albums of 2010. Now go support this great band; they deserve it!

ReplyDeleteJean-Francois, thank you for letting me know about the missing password; sometimes I forget to add the PW to the post, but I'm getting better about this, Cheers
ReplyDeleteThanks for Warpaint. I heard a few samples and I was very intrigued. Appreciate the full album post very much.
ReplyDeleteL, my pleasure! It is such a great album
ReplyDeleteTremendous work. I am going to buy this right away. I’ve already started asking everyone I know if they are yet familiar with this band– trying to spread the good word. Again, this is great stuff, very impressed by this group.
ReplyDeleteJeff, me too. They are a local band here (L.A.), which gives me one reason, I guess, to be glad about living here
ReplyDeleteVoixautre, I just wanted you to know that because of this post I have now purchased all the Warpaint vinyl I have been able to get my greedy little hands on. In addition, I trekked out to Dallas last night to see them perform at The Loft. Outstanding; my only complaint would be the brevity of the set-list.
ReplyDeleteI've become slightly obsessed.
ReplyDeleteJeff, were they opening for another act?
ReplyDeleteNo, they were the headliners.
ReplyDeleteThe opening acts were Family Band and PVT. I enjoyed Family Band quite a bit, although I arrived late and missed part of their set. I hate to say it but, I could have missed PVT and not felt bad about it. They get good reviews, but I just couldn't get into it. Beside that when it first started all I could think of was my old Cabaret Voltaire cassettes that used to litter the floor of my Geo. Don't get me wrong, Cabaret Voltaire were a pretty decent band but some of it could get monotonous or boring. PVT seemed to have taken all of the simple uninteresting parts of that old style and crafted their current boring “masterpiece?“ Needless to say, I did what I normally would not do, I went to the patio and waited for Warpaint.
I would definitely give PVT a second chance though, I don’t wish to imply that they had not any merit. They seem like a band that probably has a better recorded sound. Maybe if you had a familiarity with that, the live sound would be better.
I'm in love with this band and thank you for posting this!!!
